Wine Labels seem to be getting some attention recently. Some people find it confusing to know “Who made the wine?”
The Wine Making Process is a multiple step process; there is the grape grower, the vintner, the producer, etc….etc…….sometimes a wine is estate grown, vinted, produced and bottled; most often not.
WineShop At Home has created the following information to help lessen confusion from wine labels: thearchitectureofalabel
Labels are required to include specific information: http://www.ttb.gov/pdf/brochures/p51901.pdf
It’s not really that confusing; it’s just understanding the process and knowing the difference between where the grapes were grown and who made the wine which often are not the same winery. A winery may not be a vineyard, the winery may not even grow grapes; the more we pour the more people we encounter who seem to confused by this point in particular.
