If you live in the Pacific Northwest, Puget Sound Region you may be asking yourself what month it is. It is January, right? It was another unseasonable warm day; the sun was shinning, there’s a hue change in the landscape.
It’s exciting, it makes you want to go out and buy plants, soil and get busy in the garden. It makes you want to gather with family, friends and co-workers for some yard games, food on the grill, wine tasting of course!! Yet, that is probably jumping it just a little.
You know how when it snows and the snow melt is commonly referred to as ‘the thaw’? Around here this time of year is referred to as the ‘dry out’ we have had so much rain; everything, especially the lawn is soaking wet- this will take some time to dry out. Meanwhile we will step into our ‘muckers’ (shoes you wear in the rain and mud) and head out to get into the garden.
It should be the perfect conditions for thinning out some noxious weeds then when we do dry out and come into the blooming season; it will be that much more lovely. Won’t you come by for a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery here at Siloam? We are located in the beautiful Seabeck area where we are known for our breathtaking views of the Olympic Mountains, the no stop light town, it’s worth the trip- less than 2 hours from Seattle, Washington.
