Labor Day Wine Picnic

It's Picnic Time~

It’s Picnic Time-at Siloam–enjoy, laugh, linger, lose track of time with family and friends.  Take in a lawn game or just relax in the sound of silence.

In our fast paced plugged in world it’s more important than ever to take time for nothingness- no agenda- just be in the moment.  Take a Retreat.  In the Yoga Practice we talk about taking a Retreat in your mind–close your eyes, count backwards from 60, clear your mind of racing thoughts and allow peace, quiet, stillness to come in –all within the one minute retreat.

With Labor Day Holiday around the corner, we invite you to take a three-day retreat.  Get away to Siloam for a three night stay, soak in the hot tub, have a wine picnic, take a rest in the hammock–whatever fuels you to leave refreshed and renewed.  Contact us today for more information.  Cheers ~

Farwell Olympic Games

What were you drinking during the games?

Gymnastics. ROBERT MONDAVI “To Kalon Vineyard” Reserve Fumé Blanc 2009 (Napa, CA) $40. To Kalon means “the highest beauty” in ancient Greek; graceful and agile like a gymnast, this medium-bodied wine is crisp with floral notes.

Diving. RÔTIE CELLARS Red Wine “Southern Blend” 2010 (Columbia Valley, WA) $36. This is a silky and smooth full-bodied Rhône-style blend of grenache, syrah, and mourvédre that perfectly captures the grace of platform diving, with a little splash at the finish.
Decathlon. McCREA “Boushey Vineyard” Sirocco Blanc 2009 (Yakima Valley, WA) $22. The decathlon is one of the most grueling events, and this Rhône-style blend of grenache blanc, marsanne, roussanne, and picpoul has a diverse set of flavors, including lemon, pineapple, and pepper.

Weightlifting. ANSELMO MENDES “Muros Antigos” Alvarinho 2011 (Vinho Verde, Portugal) $11. The words “powerful” and “muscular” could describe both weightlifters and this Portuguese alvarinho (the same grape as albariño in Spain). With a full-body and lots of acidity, this wine is as well-built as a power lifter.

Salute’ to WA Wines—for making 2 out of 4 in the above events~

One of the benefits is the relationship you have with the Innkeeper, we hear you and are here for you; a concierge service unsurpassed by that of hotels.  Its personal—designed especially for you, each guest has individual requests and if we can meet those requests–we do.  The follow up we do with each of our guests allows us to continually be improving guest stay, amenities, and the accommodations.  Recently we improved the Bordeaux and Chablis Room by adding more daylight, access to a private deck and hot tub with views of the pond from sliding doors that exit each of these rooms.  We also equipped the Chablis Room with a new King size bed–providing our guests with options of 2 kings, 2 queens and the 2 queen sleeper sofas for extra guests.

Accommodating groups has really been a win/win–family reunions, church groups, leadership retreats, and girl’s get-aways:  http://www.thedailymeal.com/girls-just-want-have-fun-girlfriend-getaways-slideshow Girls do just want to have fun…..We realized this first hand after our LivingSocial Escape Package was purchased by 80% women.  Again, as Innkeepers we heard from our guests that they loved the girly girl getaway package and wanted us to continuously offer these and make improvements like massage appointments, yoga instruction, dance classes, cooking demonstrations; all possible now through our Girly Girl Getaway Packages which feature Girly Girl Wines:  http://www.girlygirlwines.com/ a commemorative wine glass, and groups can add massage, dance, yoga, etc…Etc…

Come, Visit, Getaway to Siloam~ today!!  Cheers ~
