Welcome Harvest 2010

2010 Harvest

It has been- hot, hot, hot in Napa — 100 degrees yesterday — means everything is ripening at once.  Grape Growers are picking and celebrating the harvest!! This will be a great harvest — there was a cool period and then the warm, warm weather provided a quick, even ripening of the fruit. You’ll begin to see the fruits of Harvest 2010 early in 2011. Look out!  The wines will be fabulous ~  cheers!!

Green Drinks

Please go to “Bremerton GreenDrinks” (note that GreenDrinks is one word) on Facebook to keep up with Bremerton GreenDrinks events.  If you don’t have a Facebook account, you can get on the invitation list by emailing bremertongreendrinks [at]  (Not to confuse you, but if you are reading this on Facebook, it is from the international Green Drinks website and is not our actual fan page.)
Bremerton GreenDrinks is a monthly, social networking event for community leaders, concerned citizens, elected officials, business professionals, and anyone wanting to be involved in making Bremerton a thriving, sustainable community; and meet others who feel the same.  The third Tuesday of each month from 5-8pm is hosted by a local business.  A $10 donation is requested to offset the costs of our enthusiastic food and drink sponsors (this occasionally changes for special events).
Every month features a 10 minute speaker on sustainable issues, and we actively encourage meeting new people.  Friendships, business relationships, and new customers have all been forged at GreenDrinks.
Past events have been held on a rooftop, at a marina, a garden nursery, an art gallery, million dollar penthouses, a yoga studio, and at many locally-owned bars and restaurants.  For future events, we are working on expanding to even more unique venues.  Our recent outdoor summer events had in excess of one hundred people and I think I can safely say were enjoyed by all.
As always, GreenDrinks is an adults only event.  Hope to see you there.

Wine Pick of the Month

Wine Pick
Somersville Cellars 2008 Paso Robles Petit Verdot
Our Somersville Cellars wines evoke the spirit of home and family. Of time spent lingering on front porches and freshly mowed lawns. Of afternoons and evenings where conversation and laughter take center-stage. Handcrafted for just such magical moments, our Somersville Cellars artisan wines will serve you well in bringing your own loved ones together to savor your special moments. Our Somersville Cellars Petit Verdot is one of our Special Occasion Wines. Whether it is the boss coming to dinner, a special birthday, anniversary, wedding, or a gift of wine to take to a friend’s house, special occasion wines are a breed all their own. Elegant and refined, these wines age well and are perfect to put down in the cellar or wine storage rack. Expect fine quality, great taste, lasting pleasure on the palate.Petit Verdot is originally from the Bordeaux region of France where it provides color and structure for some of the most sought after wines in the world. The intense color and flavor of this varietal allows it to influence a wine even at small percentages. Because it is so useful in blends, it is extremely rare to bottle this wine as a single varietal. This wine was fermented in open top tanks and aged in oak barrels, half of which were new, for 20 months. This wine will age well for 4 to 7 years.

This 2008 Somersville Cellars Paso Robles Petit Verdot has big aromas of blackberry, eucalyptus, toast and spice with hints of vanilla and rosemary. The mouthfeel is big and silky with loads of flavor and complexity. This wine has a long finish and is balanced with just the right amount of tannin. Enjoy this wine with prime rib roast, French onion soup, carne asada or stronger cheeses like aged cheddar.

Sep 9, 2010 | Trip type: Couples

My boyfriend and I decided to take a short trip out of town for the Labor Day weekend, it was a very last minute decision. Luckily, I came across this place for listing and I am so glad that this place was available for the weekend!! Jeff and Julie were great in accommodating us in every way and the best part, of course, is the house and their back yard!! It is awesome!! The wine was great!! We felt like we got a lot more than what was described online. We were able to relax and enjoyed the place very much. Only one way for you to find out is to just go there and experience it yourself…:) Thanks!!
