We recently hosted a friends 40th birthday on board the Historic MV Kirkland permanently moored at Bremerton Harborside Marina: http://www.facebook.com/pages/MV-Kirkland/470264893088851?ref=nf
http://www.portofbremerton.org/marina/bremerton/bremerton-marina It was a lovely night, inside and out, a good time had by all. The boat was brought to Bremerton to serve as a venue hosting private events. Hosting on board the MV Kirkland is like “lifestyles of the rich and famous” said one guest. The boat is large and can accommodate all your friends with good food, good drink and your good ideas for using the event space for weddings, reunions, bar and bat mitzvahs, birthday parties, holiday parties, corporate events, meetings—you name it—from extravagant to simple the event coordinators will help you every step of the way. A retreat serves the body, mind and spirit by allowing time to find greater inner peace. When you find inner peace, you move the world toward peace. This is why it is vital to escape from the world’s bombardment of sounds and images and take time for the mind and heart to come to stillness.
Why retreat? People go on retreat for a number of reasons that generally focus on positive personal change:
- Reconnect to your true self
- Learn and practice methods to better yourself and your life
- Relax at a deep level
- Rejuvenate your Spirit
- Take time for reflection
- Gain clarity on an issue or your life path
- Find meaning in your life beyond daily or material concerns
- Practice your Faith
One of the most popular styles of retreat at Siloam has been to re-connect, we have another group scheduled to arrive soon who will stay for three days to retreat from their daily lives and connect with each other. Shortly after that group departs another group will arrive who will be focusing on leadership for their annual leadership retreat.
For your own personal retreat from intimate to extravagant; Siloam should be considered. Located where you are, creating an atmosphere of peace and tranquility here, there, anywhere. Retreat services with or without overnight accommodations for individuals or groups, the Retreat coaches will help make your retreat and event dreams real!
The wine lady has gone mad. Siloam welcomes Mad Housewife to our featured wines. Look for the wine lady near you pouring Mad Housewife.
We can all relate to Mad Housewife, perhaps fond memories of grandma, mom, auntie…..ourselves ~ it’s timeless. Today’s woman with a busy schedule finding time to wine with friends and family. It’s the perfect gift, the perfect everyday go to wine with a great price point. Join us in a glass, here, there or anywhere. We will be seeing you for a sniff, swirl and sip…..every glass a celebration. Cheers ~
Our Philosophy Mad Housewife-
Wine should be fun, relaxing, and something you can afford to look forward to at the end of each and every day. Wine should never intimidate, make you think too hard, or create a new line item in your budget. This is your time. Time to enjoy a moment to yourself. A moment without the madness.
A Zero Waste Event (or “ZeeWee” as it has been nicknamed) is one in which event organizers plan ahead to reduce solid waste from the event, reuse various elements such as banners, and set up Zero-Waste Stations for those recyclable and compostable materials such as paper cups, food scraps, and plastic water bottles that are generated by the event. ZeeWees can range from large scale sports events to weddings and parties. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zero_Waste_Event
We recently held a zero waste event at Siloam Retreat. Bremerton GreenDrinks: http://www.greendrinks.org/WA/Bremerton was the perfect event to give this a try. GreenDrinkers are all about sustainability it was not difficult to convince them to re-use their wine glass, to use a cloth napkin and instead of throwing the plate away put it in the bus bin to be washed and re-used. We didn’t have gabage cans and ended up ony with a bit of compost at the end of the evening.
The event was catered by CJ’s Evergreen Catering: http://cjgeneralstore.weebly.com/ who were on board with our zero waste theme and beer was provided by Hales: http://halesbrewery.com/, who helped to support Hopstock week: https://www.facebook.com/HopstockGPBW by coordinating with other local brewers to provide samples: Valholl: http://www.valhollbrewing.com/; Rainy Daze: https://www.facebook.com/RainyDazeBrewing; Slaughter House: https://www.facebook.com/SlaughterCountyBrewing and Slippery Pig: http://www.slipperypigbrewing.com/— a shout out to all~ Thank You
It has been our pleasure to support Bremerton GreenDrinks for about 5 years with wine and beverage service. We have learned a lot about sustainability and now can confidently help to plan and host a ZeeWee=Zero Waste Event. Until we meet again, Cheers~ allow us to help you with your next event-here, there or anywhere
